My Inspiration to Code a Mobile Game
My name is Chris and a game developer. I haven’t created many games though but I’m in the process of creating my second mobile game.
It all started in 2013 and I must admit that the idea came to be by accident. I’m an avid lover of video games and I am a veteran in playing several of the best games in Xbox or Play Station. There are also a few games that I tried coding myself but I all did it for fun- nothing serious. I would in my free times develop a game using free game engines but most had some technical issues that I never bothered even correcting.
Then came the summer of 2013 when I went for a visit to my uncle’s place during the long holiday. It had been long since I was there and was quite happy to be with my two cousins. Much of this was attributed to the times that we would spend playing and contesting in playing video games. But this holiday was different. To them Xbox and Play Station games were quiet childish and outdated and instead that were now concentrating on mobile game. This was foreign and somehow strange to me. I had this notion that mobile games were the ones meant for kids.
But maybe I was wrong-no I was just wrong; mobile games weren’t meant for kids as I thought. I proved this when they would play mobile games online and at times compete with their friends.
Developing a Game for the Droid
It was during my stay at their place that my ideology of mobile games changed. I realized that mobile devices were common and accessible to many and hence this made them favorite gaming platform. After my brief stay, I decided it was time that I tried developing a game for the audience. I loved the idea of how it was easy to distribute the game and thus this gave me the encouragement to carefully develop something which would be widely accepted.
I began my coding and the process of testing, debugging and polishing everything took me almost the whole winter to perfect it. I then uploaded it to a few app stores and ensured that my two cousins, their friends and my friends too gave it a review. Being a nice game as it was, I got a lot of positive reviews which made me feel good about it.
App Stores made me Realize the Potential of Mobile Games
By spring 2014, I had a few thousand download and by then I was working to perfect the game. Since I had allowed a few ads to be delivered to the players, I also had the benefit of making some money out of the game that I had developed and this made me realize how I could earn some money while having fun as I created the games and provided support to the users. I hope that my next creation will be better and more accepted than the previous one.
